About Me

I am a father of seven children only two in high school, the rest have completed their education. Live in Kiptangwanyi about 500 meters from kiptangwanyi trading center next KFA along kiptangwanyi-makongo road, my occupation is farming (mixed farming) also I am member of KFA leader , I have a little knowledge but having general information.
I started a business of farming after having an education day of farming funded by Brookside Company, by the end of the day they promise us to be buying our milk, they also tell us to crossbreed the indigenous cattle by dairy breed which are highly productive in milk, but before I was dealing most with vegetable. I am expecting to purchase more cattle’s and chicken also I will purchase a piece of land to accommodate the feed of animal and farming of vegetable.

My Business

My business is farming
My business includes cattle farming, chicken rearing and vegetable in small scale. They is a lot of demand of the product such as milk, because the milk is taken by the Brookside company dairy, and also so many people here rely on vegetable
Most of the farmer in kiptangwanyi have not yet crossbreed their cattle thus making me being the most of the few one who will produce much milk. The business will be profitable because most of the feed a get from my farm. The risk facing the business is poor road during the rainy season which hinders the transportation of the milk.
My typical monthly cost is khs 55000, sale revenue is around ksh 25000 and profit is above 20000 but I am planning to earning more.

Loan Proposal

I want to use this loan that I will get from Zidisha organization to do the following in my organization. The first thing I want to do is to construct some paddocks for my dairy cattle in my farm. This will be very important as it will ensure that I am using my pastures in the farm are well utilized. Secondly I would like to make silage for the purpose of the dry season. The loan will be of much importance to me and I know it will play an important role in improving my business.
