Am seraphine amukulon otwani daughter to engineer otwani of busia .I was born and grew up and live in Busia town. I schooled at st. Cecilia misihu girls high school .
After school I started poultry keeping. I was given 2 hens and 1 cock by my grandmother for a start. I took the bird to our kitchen where I reared them from their I used to feed them the remaining of food .i after a period of three month of rearing the birds I had 20 birds was able to sell the birds at kshs 350 each with I was able to raise 7000 .
From that I was able to get more 66 bird which are broilers at 75/= each. After a period of thee month I was able to get 400 bird which I sell them to royal hotel busia .from these I have been able to built a house to keep them since the population couldn’t feet in the kitchen at and also have found it easy to get my basic need with no stress and most of the time I help my father on cane plantation
I started the business with ksh.500 on treating the birds
Currently I have a stock worth 140,000 which is so impressive to me which has give the hopes of getting these loan to so as to increase my stock .
I started the business so as to create job opportunity after school and to be able support my family.
I do poultry keeping a part from that am clearing agent with the ramsford company.my poultry is base back at my home otimong sub-location pasama village.
I sell chicken and eggs. The demand is high the since fact that Busia is situated in Kenya Uganda border so most of my customers are those who want to cross the border especially those who clear the vehicles and these their people who works here in town.
My business is profitable because I have so many customers so the more I serve the more i earn especially those from schools . The challenge am facing is just lack of capital to expand my business the demand is high than I have. With these loan I will be able to meet my need to this business.
My monthly usage is as follows KES 3,000 transport ,KES 600,000 for the stock ND 200, 000 for other expenceses like buying sucks .profit ranges from KES 40,000-45,000 per month. The loan i will used to modify my business and its the business that will repay the loan. And with these I will be able to support myself and family with less stress.
i will be able to expand poultry house which will create space for more birds and get more and best chick feeds i will renovate the present poultry house i will be able to get more busker for transporting my birds to the market
i will be able to treat my birds and vaccinate them on time since i have been having a challenge on that.
i will be able to get more birds for my stock .which i will get more manure which i will cell to farmer on vegetables farms these will allow me to get more feeding trays for my birds
