I am uneducated woman, who spend most of her childhood on looking after goats, sheep, calves and young brothers and sisters as the duty of the girl child. I grew and start to help my mother to fetch fire woods and building the houses. I was married when I was about twenty years old,i have beard a child on twenty one years old. I started my business to carter for my family and educate my kids.

My Business

I do sell ornaments to tourist around sekenani gate and also at the cultural village. The ornaments include;Masai shukas, crafts,Masai shangas(this are the beautiful and colorful ornaments worn on the neck and hand). The ornaments due cost Ksh 500 buying price and selling price will differ due to the interest of the tourist(buyer). My business like any other do undergoes stiff competition. The other competition is the number of women in the market. The business is at more risk due to the number of tourist visiting Mara. The profit ranges between Ksh 15,000 up to Ksh 25,000, the monthly cost is around (200*30)=6,000. Most of my customers prefer this products due to attraction of appearance. The business here in Mara mostly rely on the tourist visiting the area. The only depending aspect is business. I have plans to complete the permanent structure for commercial purposes, and expanding my business of ornaments.

Loan Proposal

I will buy ornaments at whole sale in Narok town and Nairobi. The ornaments will be bought in cartons the carton will cost Ksh 12,000, i will buy 4 cartons and sell them at total amount of ksh 15,000 making a profit of Ksh 3,000 per two weeks.
