About Me

My name is Robert Ouko. I am a Kenyan citizen aged 29 years old.I am married and a father to one. i live in Manyani estate in Nakuru. from Shell petrol station, take a vehicle that plies the kabachia YMCA route. alight at Junction and ask for block 14 house number 10. I am a Dairy Science and food technology graduate from Egerton university. Upon realizing how lucrative the milk Business is, I started a dairy in the year 2012 with the major product being raw milk. i have however started processing of lala and yoghurt in small quantities[average of 15 litres a day.I handle 100 litres of milk in a day. the profit margin per litre is 7/=. on average i make 700/= per day. At the moment i plough back back the profit made to enable me meet my short term goals.with the processing yoghurt, i have registered a business name [Optimum dairy Products ]. These will enable me to be VAT compliant and expand my market in future. The business has employed one person on permanent basis.

My Business

With an average monthly profit of 21000/=, the business is in a position to payback the loan on installments as your organization may deem best. i currently sell raw milk of approximately 100 litres per day and another 10 litre in Lala and yoghurt production.I put quality above all and this as enabled me to expand in terms of customer number. The major risk of the business is at times deterioration in quality of yoghurt in case of long storage beyond recommended shelf life.In a month, we buy milk worth 130000/= giving a monthly turn over of 200000/= and a profit of 21000/=. The money borrowed must be invested in this business. In unlikely event that it happens in the other way round, i will use my monthly earnings to repay back the loan.

Loan Proposal

I will use KES 2000 to buy a sealing machine to enable seal processed yoghurt in aseptically handle labeled polythene sleeves. this will enable me improve on value addition. i will put the remaining amount on stock to increase on the milk volumes that i handle per day and repair a a deep freezer which i s currently no t working.
