About Me

my name is Samuel. i am single and currently pursuing a degree course at moi university rongo campus from where i also work for maganda supermarket as a cashier on pert time. i live in homabay town in a estate called site. other than that, i am involve in business. i stock and sell cereals in large quantities.my main area of business is homabay town.i have employed two staff one to help in purchases at field level during harvesting and one who runs the cereal shop.to start the business, i only invested KES40000. in the year 2012. from the sound profit, i have been able to relocate to a more spacious room of which is currently under used.if granted the loan, i will expand on my stock and look for ways on value addition that may involve packing of milled maize flour.

My Business

as i have stated in my profile, i live in homabay town and at the same time do business here. i deal on cereals majorly maize, millet,sorghum and at times groundnuts. from the initial capital of KES40000 i now have a base capital of 280000. from this i get an average monthly turn over of KES 300000.out of which KES 50000 is my net profit per month. half of this profit goes towards my education. i use another KES 15000 on my upkeep while the rest goes back to the business.the challenges include pest infestation and fluctuation in prices.i intend to pay back the loan using the returns from the business, if this will not be possible i will use my salary to service the loan.

Loan Proposal

i will use KES 5000 to increase my cereal stock. i will use the remaining amount to purchase pesticide for all of the grains/cereals that i stock. with an increased stock, i will increase my profit margin considerably. the purchase of pesticides will also reduce on losses associated with pest infestation.
