About Me

I am Linet mainga a second born in a family of Nine, my home town is at Gesonso that is approximately 2 kilometers form kisii Town - Kisii county Nyanza Province. I went to Tabaka primary school and later on attended Itibo Girls in suneka town for my secondary education. After my secondary school I enrolled in Gusii institute of technology where I acquired my certificate in clothing and textile. I now live in Nakuru Town- Nakuru county Rift valley province. in an estate called Lanet an area called Umoja One, I decided to start a business that can enable me sustain myself that’s when I decided to do the Grocery store.

My Business

I do a grocery business in my area where I supply grocery to the homes where I have customers who require my products daily. I choose this business because in my area we have many high income earners who prefer not to go shopping in the local market because of their class so I took this as a business opportunity. I bought I second hand pick up, gathered their phone numbers and orders (their preferences). My customers call me to give me orders everyday with the products that they want me to supply. This business has given me high revenue since my clients buy this product at a higher price. My business has an advantage because other businesses wait for their customers to buy for them whereas I get to my customers , I also supply very fresh high quality products directly from the shamba. My business faces very minimum risk since these are daily consumed products. I incur monthly expenses of khs 100,000 inclusive of fuel and labour and make a sales revenue of Ksh 180,000. Approximately an average profit margin of Ksh 60,000 in a month. Its my desire to open up to other areas but am faced with inadequate capital.

Loan Proposal

I will use my first loan to recruit another labour force to supply grocery such as Kales, spinach , tomatoes, onions, pepper, potatoes, dhania to a new area that I have established (Upper Milimani). This labour force will walk door to door introducing/ advertising my new service to them which I believe they will buy the idea because this area is inhabited by rich people.

Hello Linet, I hope you received your payment from the annual meeting of pastors, or has the meeting not taken place yet? Were you able to make your loan repayment this month as scheduled?

  • Linet    Dec 18, 2013

I would like to reschedule my loan repayment because I have had a very high demand of my grocery produce and this is because i managed to get a tender to supply my products to an annual meeting of pastors that was taking place here in Nakuru for one week and payment was to be made after one week. My regular customers have also increased consumption of the vegetable because most of them and their families are now at home for the holidays. I am very committed towards fully repaying the loan and that you very much for the support that you have given me.
