I was born in kapsara village in Kitale County, in a family of five. My father is a teacher in a government school and my mother is a business woman attended kapsara primary school and later joined kitale secondary school. Am an Advanced level student from Tororo girls academy, a holder of Bachelor of Arts from Makerere University and a certificate holder of Information Technology. Currently am working as junior supervisor in kinaba evans group of business situated in Nakuru and Nyahururu town. Am single lady I attend AIC church in JB teachers. I engage in bead work most of my time of my off shifts
I started my business while I was in campus four years ago; I have been making beads that are necklaces, rings, ear rings, bungles, pulses and hand bags. I buy raw materials from Kampala and Masai market in Nairobi Kenya. This business has a very high demand especially the young people and the inhabitants of big towns in Kenya. I don’t not operate a fixed shop because my customers are widely spread in Kenya towns such Nairobi Masai market and Ngala market where I normally sell my products during market days I also sell my products to hawkers in Nakuru who are so many. At the moment I have not been able to satisfy my customers due to inadequate funds to hire workers to make beads. I have a high number of customers over my competitors due to the uniqueness of my beads and also I use very genuine materials to make them. If I get zidisha loan which is very friendly and fair I will be able to start hiring women with skills and increase my output. In a month I use approximately KES 40,000 and make sales of approximately KES80,000
Thank you so much zidisha team, my lenders and Mr. Njuguna Sammy Nakuru VM for the great assistance given to me. I invested my second loan wisely and got more returns than even I expected. I have established more reliable customers who are demanding more beads than before. I will use my third loan as an additional capital to the my savings to buy more beads from Dubai where there are very cheap compared to other sources I get from. I will also hire one more person (labour force) to increase the volume of output. i will then sell these beads to the University burzar in Kampala Uganda. i have a big market that i will sell my products and be able to repay back my loan very first
