About Me

I Mohamed Said Mangale I am married and I have one baby boy, he is 3years old and he is KG1 at Majaoni Mission Academy based here in mtondia kilifi-kenya,
I learnt at Mtondia primary school and managed to complete my primary education in 2003, thereafter I didn’t have the cash to go to secondary school as my parents are poor. I decided to hassle for a capital so that I could open a small business. I have in this video show business for about 7 years now.

My Business

I choose to open Video Show because I was once employed at a Video show in Mombasa whereby I gained an experience of doing that business. I started wishing and praying to God that one day I could open the same job of my own.
I managed to open the business in Mtondia whereby people like my video because of the selection of the movies and many of them are my friends we grew-up together play together and some studied together.
I thank God that I am getting my daily bread and a small profit of kshs300/= to kshs400/= per day.my monthly sales is about kshs 12000 and my expenses is kshs 3000.this has a profit margin of about kshs 9000 which I now plough back into the business. This is also enough to pay my loan on time.my greatest desire is one day to open up a very big video show that can be used by about 500 people at a go.

Loan Proposal

I will use the cash to expand my business through installation of DSTV which will cost about kshs 20,000.I will also the cash to buy more benches for my customers. This shall cost about kshs 5,000.Then i will also add latest action movies, bongo movies,Indian movies and nigerian movies. This shall costs kshs 10,000.This is enough to make my business boom and hence make profits.

I first thank the zidisha microfinance for the trust that gave me. It was tuesday night when everything turned up. There was a blackout in our town and this was the biggest match of the semi final of uefa champions league Barn Munich against Barcelona. everybody was eager to watch the first leg of the semi finals. I lend the generator all in all to please my customers. this is the day i regretted most, The generator burnt almost all my electronics including TV, DVDs and some mobile phones of my customers. All these are my problems but i will repay all your money though i will take a long period of time but if things changes i will clear it. kindly i Will repay it successful i can't betray you guys i respect the microfinance.

    Hello Lenders,

My name is Andrew Weber and I recently served as a Zidisha Client Relationship Manger in Kenya. There I paid a visit to Mohamed at his busienss in a village outside the city of Kilifi on the coast. Mohamad runs a video room where he shows 6 movies per day at 10am, noon, 2pm, 5pm, 7pm 9pm. I peaked in during a showing of a mid-day movie on a weekday and there was still a sizable crowd of about 20 people in attendance. The room has a capacity of about 150 people. He has been in this business for about 6 years, and says he got the idea after working in a video store as a teenager. He has no secondary education and movies are his passion, so he decided to open his own video room. He charges about $.20 per head, and says the room really fills up on weekends. So far the income has been enough for him to support his infant son.

He used his Zidisha loan to increase his already impressive stock of DVDs. He estimates he has about 1,000 DVDs in stock now. He shows movies from all over the world spanning all types of genres, but the crowd-pleasers are typically action or war movies. He tries to show one American movie and one “Tollywood” (or Tanzanian) movie per day. In the future he hopes to buy a big flat screen TV and add a satellite dish to show soccer. He sends his thanks to the lenders for their support.
