About Me

I am a Fifth year electrical engineering student from Technical University of Kenya. I com from a family of five, two boys and three girls. I live in Nairobi's Maringo Estate, which is just off Jogoo Road past Rikana Restaurant.
My house number is Door Number seven (7), Plot number Twenty One (21).
I rear rabbits for a living and also a part time academic writer.
I stated the rabbit rearing as business after having so much love for rabbits as I grew from a family where my parents loved keeping them for food at home. I choose to venture to business in the same direction since I understood well how to keep them.
When I am not taking care of my rabbits and not in school, I do part time academic writing mostly in the field of Engineering, especially Electrical Engineering which I very well understand since I have a background in it. This has proved to be very vital in that I have managed to understand a lot to do with the various disciplines in engineering.

My Business

I will use income from my rabbits business and academic writing to cater for the loan granted by Zidisha.
Rabbit keeping as a business here in Nairobi Kenya is a very lucrative business with a Kilo of rabbit meat going for Ksh. 500 on the lower side. I have a wide customer base and even at times its rather hard to satisfy the demanding market. I ensure that my rabbits are clean and healthy and hardly a day ends before I clean and ensure that they are in good condition. This has enabled me be a force to reckon with in the business as my rabbits always fetch a higher price than those of my competitors.
The business at times faces drawbacks when there are disease outbreaks when least unexpected for instance snuffles, internal and external parasites, overgrown incisors, uterine problems (infections or cancer), and sore hocks. That's why keen care should be given to them.
Typically within a month I make Ksh. 20,000 from the rabbit business and Ksh. 10,000 from academic writing giving a total income of Ksh. 30,000 on average which I use to cater for my expenses at home, school and for my business. This has also enabled me take care of part of my younger siblings education.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan granted by zidisha to add to the amount I have to purchase rabbit feed. This will ensure that my rabbits have adequate supply in January, hence they will be healthy and strong. Rabbit feed will cost me Ksh. 7000.
Apart from the feed, I will purchase nails, a kilo, costing Ksh .120 to ensure I repair any leaking roof and or week joints of the rabbit house.
Please fund my project.
