About Me

My name is Grace Wairimu and I come from Solai, Nakuru County where I reside. Solai is approximately 8 Km from Maili kumi Centre on the Nakuru – Nyahururu highway. I am married and a mother of 3 children and am a business lady and a chicken farmer where i keep small chicken for eggs although i have not expanded very much due to lack of capital to specialize on that area. I am a form four certificate holder.

My Business

In my plot which I have constructed shops in the front, I have a uniform shop where I sell school uniforms and pullovers(sweaters).I have a pullover knitting machine whereby I knit school pullover and sell them to parents with pupils in nearby school and during market days I sell the same to people even from far areas that come to the market. The school uniforms give me a profit of Kshs. 4000 per month. One pullover have a expenditure of an average Kshs. 400 and I sell it at a cost of an average of Kshs. 550 thus making a profit of on average due to the size of the pullover Kshs 150. In one week am able to knit 20 pullovers thus making a profit of about 3000. This gives a total of 1200 per month. I also sometimes get orders from schools to supply pullovers.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan lend by zidisha to buy knitting yarns so that i will be able to have enough stock during the time that the children will be joining school during january for both primary and secondary schools. During this months the business will be very good. I will also be able to increase the school uniforms.
