About Me

Born in Nyamira town located around 30km from Kisii town, I come from a family of five; two boys and I. we reside right next to the only Equity Bank branch in the town running a small Money transfer and photocopying business branded “Rolcom Communications” pursued a degree in business information technology BIT in JKUAT and graduated in the year 2011. Before I could pursue my studies further, I had for long harbored within me a determination to be in self employment as something to keep me both occupied and fulfilled. For two straight years now, I have been in direct control of this business where I have witnessed a surge in the number of customers and an increase in the demand for money transfer and internet services that has kept me to ever keep my business in pace in with the new customer buying trends. I intend to start providing internet services to my clients especially after noting that only few of my competitors provide such services.

My Business

My money transfer business has been favored by the strategic location of my business along a busy road precisely next to a local bank. Here, I daily do handle a huge number of clients either requesting me to duplicate their documents, help them send money, make deposits or refresh themselves with a cold drink. But notably, many of these clients have been enquiring whether I do provide internet services say, emailing something to some one or download some documents. Most of these are the people who have come to register transactions at the local bank next to my business or those who have come to deposit or send their money hence my idea to seize this business opportunity and provide such requested services. My business enjoys a huge base of prospective customers due to our location along a busy road and our situation right next to a local bank where long queues of clients making withdrawals from the ATM or Tellers can be seen hence making it a factor favoring my business seeing me lake up to 20000ksh in sales revenues and around 6000ksh in profits after settling electricity bills. By acquiring equipments like routers, and adding a few computer machines I believe can enable me dispense my intended services. We have had cases of insecurity around my area especially robberies and break- ins but since the installation of the county governments we have seen such issues addressed.

Loan Proposal

I will to use this loan to purchase equipments like routers., modems and cables to network the computers. This will allow me to offer this services at a fee to increase my profits on top of mpesa. Also i will add some float to my money transfer business to help serve clients who usually do high withdrawals and deposits.
