    Dear lenders,
This is Analin Saturria McGregor, Communications Associate at Zidisha.
Our Volunteer Mentor Ruth Muraya spoke yesterday with Lydiah over the phone and has made us aware of the very hard couple of months Lydia's been having. In just two months, Lydiah lost an uncle, her grandmother and her grandfather. She was the only one in the family in any position to face the hefty medical bills that remained to be paid, and her finances were seriously constrained during the past two months while she took care of this family obligation.
Ruth has informed us that Lydiah is back at work and slowly getting her finances in order after such large, unexpected expenses. Due to the high costs of healthcare in developing countries, in which often patients have to provide the medication and disposables used in their treatment, even individuals with savings can end up being ill-prepared to cover medical bills. Lydiah hopes you can accept her apologies in not informing you of her situation sooner. We extend our condolences to Lydiah and her family and wish her the best in the upcoming months - her strength of character and care for her extended family are truly inspiring.
