I am James Muraguri Wairiguini currently living in Nairobi Kenya.I am an accountant with CPA(K) AND CFA(K) currently pursuing degree in business management.I started dairy farming about one year ago mainly to supplement my income and the income i get i reinvest in the same business.Another reason is that i have a passion in dairy farming since childhood. Finally there has been tremendous growth in the industry for the past ten years in the country such that the milk companies are investing in neighboring countries.
My source of income to repay the loan is from the employment income and also from the dairy farming. This business is profitable as the demand of the milk outstrip its supply and also there is huge competition from the buyers of the milk.Risks involved in the business is lack of capital to expand the business and sometimes adverse climatic conditions in which there is shortage of food for the cows especially during dry conditions but this is mitigated by storing during the rainy season. My main expenses is the cost of feeds for the cows and the two employees employed in the farm so i believe from the income i can be able to repay the loan.
Part of the loan will be utilised in buying dairy feeds for the cows. This will have an immediate impact in the milk production which already has a good market hence able to repay my loan and also satisfying my customers.
The remaining balance will be used to increase my stock of the dairy calves in my farm.
