About Me

I was born on the 22nd of September 1984 in Igenaitambe village, West Mugirango constituency Nyamira county-kenya. I started schooling in Igenaitambe primary school in 1990. After completing my primary school in 1999 I later joined Kilimo High school where I completed my O levels in 2003 and later on joined African Institute of research to pursue a diploma in Purchases and supplies management. Since completion, it has been difficult to get a job thus I decided to start my small business. I worship at Abundant Life Seventh Day Adventist church which is located in Gilani Estate – 2 kilometers from Nakuru town. I stay in Kaptembwa adjacent to the Kingdom Hall church. At the moment, I sell eggs both in wholesale and retail. It has been my desire to expand my business more to sell more and more eggs to meet the high market demand but it has been difficult due to inadequate finance. Also I would wish to improve my service delivery to satisfy my increasing number of customers. My motorbike was stolen. I have decided to start in a small way by purchasing a good bicycle and employ one worker who will be supplying my wholesale customers with eggs at their points of sale. I will use the loan to purchase the bicycle and better high quality tyres plus carrier. Lately I have been getting customers from different parts of Nakuru town owing to the strategic position of my business.

My Business

I operate a poultry farming business located in Kaptembwa in the heart of Nakuru town. Over the past few years there has been an exodus of people to Urban centre of Nakuru. The population of Nakuru Municipality is now over 250,000. There is a lot of pressure on the available green vegetables within the Municipality and its environs. Most residents prefer using eggs because they are cheaper, easy to prepare and delicious. I realized the demand of eggs that was growing at a very alarming rate. After a thorough research I realized that the egg suppliers and retailers were few. That’s when I decided to venture into the business.
I started with a little capital and realized the demand for the eggs. Due to the availability of high quality eggs at all times I have managed to attract and retain more customers throughout this period.
In a fortunate month am able to make sales revenue of approximately KES 60,000 and during peak seasons the sales increases to approximately KES 80,000. I incur monthly expenses of approximately KES 30,000 Inclusive of electricity and other charges.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan to purchase a bicycle at about KES 10,000.This bicycle will enable me ro reach my clients faster through my shop attendant. The remaining amount will be used to purchase additional stock(eggs). One tray of eggs will be costing KES 240. I will buy 40 trays of eggs which my attendant will supply to my clients at KES 300. This will generate a profit of KES 60x40=2400 per day. i will maintain the supply for 25 days a month. This will generate KES 60,000 per month. This is an excellent deal on earth! I will pay my shop attendant KES 10,000. My net profit will be about KES 50,000 per month from the fund.

First i am sorry for not having paid the loan as agreed. This was not intentional but an eventuality happened but i did not report it on time. My business premises was broken into and almost all of my stock stolen. I was under shock and forgot to inform you but i thank God because the thieves were caught and i am due to get compensation very soon. Also i again thank God because a well wisher gave me some funds to continue with the business as i wait for compensation. ONCE AGAIN I AM SORRY for having not paid on time and for having not informed you. Thank you.

0nce again i take this opportunity to thank the zidisha team for the great support i am getting from you. I also would like to kindly request to be allowed to resume payment of my loan after two weeks. My attendant/employee was involved in a road accident, so i had to close shop briefly to attend him bearing in mind that he has no relatives here in the city. I am sorry for having not posted this information earlier but i had sent it through a text on Wednesday this week. Thank you

I am grateful and thankful for the entire zidisha team for giving me the loan. The loan has enabled me to purchase a brand new bicycle which my employee now uses to deliver the eggs to my clients. I also used the remaining amount to add some more stock. God bless you all
