About Me

I am a twenty three year old male Kenyan citizen. I cleared high school in 2007. I live in Thika Makongeni Estate Phase six just opposite Saint Matia Mulumba Mission Hospital.
After my high school education, my parents were not in a capable financial situation to pay for me and my other four siblings school fees. I being the first born, I had to lead by example and opted to give up my dream of joining college temporarily so that my two brothers and two sisters could at least have an education like mine. Since I couldn't just sit down and do nothing to help in the situation, it led me to develop a business mind and that's where Kevin's Buns came up. I cook small buns and sell them at Ksh. 5 each in a stall located outside our home.

My Business

My business involves selling buns. In Kenya, we call them mandazis. I wake up as early as 4 am daily to start cooking them. I have two other employees who I have employed on casual basis.
I ensure that I am up that time to ensure that even the people who wake up early to go to work have their breakfast snack while its still fresh and hot. Also, school going children.
There is high demand for my buns (mandazis) because first I have a high degree of hygiene. I wouldn't risk the lives of my customers and in that I ensure that my workers and I uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Also, I ensure that my customers have their snacks on time but most of all sweet and delicious snacks.
In a day, I make a profit of minimum ksh. 1500 after all deductions. This is in the morning only until 10 am. Past 10 am I go to run errands to Bidco Oil Refineries, hence another supplement to my business income.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan to purchase wheat flour in bales. I will purchase one bale that will cost me Ksh 4500. This will be cost effective unlike purchasing 1 kg packets of wheat flour. I will manage to save ksh. 500 by purchasing the bale.
The remaining Ksh. 3000 I will use it to purchase another bigger cooking pan that will cost me Ksh. 1500. I will also buy two bigger frying spoon that will make it easy for me and my workers to cook the buns. This will cost me Ksh. 1000.
The remaining Ksh. 500 I will use it to purchase a bag of charcoal that will be used to cook the buns.
Please accept my proposal and enable me grow my business so as to be in a position to make greater profit and be in a position to educate my younger siblings.
