About Me

I was born in Kisii North, Kisii county in the year 1984. I am forth born in the family of 7. 7 years later I started school in Jamji Primary school in Kericho, Kericho county and later on joined sawagongo secondary school in the year 2000. I later on joined college at high-tech college of accountancy where I did my technical level i.e (K.A.T.C intermediate and final level) with Kasneb (Kenya accountant and secretaries examination board) currently am staying in Nairobi town Saika area along kangundo road at kayole junction next to Bee-P filling station. I run my business at Kamulu area in Nairobi county.

My Business

I have been doing poultry keeping for the last two years in the outskirts of Nairobi town;Kamulu area Nairobi county approximately 15 kilometers from Nairobi town. Opposite brookshine school adjacent to river Athi. I choose this business due to the increasing number of population thus customers. I keep have been keeping local breeds from the start but then to diversify my business I started the exotic exotic breeds which are mainly for eggs. While the local breeds for both eggs and meat. This business is done by other farmers in the area but due to the experience I gained in my brothers place while in kisii has helped me to cut operations cost and maximize my earnings. Currently I have 270 chicken;exotic being 90 in number while the rest are local breeds. Monthly I incur a total expense of 40,000 inclusive of labour, chicken feeds, electricity and other miscellaneous expenses, while I make monthly revenue of 75,000.

Loan Proposal

I will use the money advanced to me to acquire three iron sheets to extend the housing used to shelter the birds during the day as the currently available house is becoming smaller day by day due to the increasing number of birds.Secondly,i would like to increase the amount of feeds bought at a time so as to capitalize on economies of scale and it seems to be abit costly in terms of transport when buying in small quantities as i have to travel to Ruai more often. My plan also incorporates acquiring a helper who will be there to take care of the birds when i am away to sell eggs and also when attending our local welfare groups meetings.
