my name is joseph kinuthia,i am 19years old.I have one brother and one sister.I live with my aunt who raised us together with my cousins after i lost my mum in 1994.After i did my primary education i joined secondary school and cleared in 2011.I got a letter to join university to peruse a bachelor degree in business management course.I requested to enroll this year so that i could raise the money required.Since last year i have been teaching in primary school and doing Agriculture projects to raise the money for my education.
As my Aunt is a farmer cum business Woman, together with my cousin my,Fredrick Warui who is a recent zidisha beneficiary),i have had an opportunity to participate and benefit from the many projects that have have been done.AS my Aunt is a farmer cum businesswoman, she has always encouraged us to venture into her various agricultural projects.Together with my my cousin we have initiated projects on Agriculture eg Indigenous farming, growing of vegetables cum poultry, dairy farming.Since 2012 march i have been working as a teacher and have also planted potatoes and a half acre of maize. The thirty chickens are giving me 20 trays of eggs daily.I sell at each kshs20.They feed 4kgs of feeds daily amounting to ksh130 and after adding cost of the medicine plus other expenses am left with ksh250 per day.AM also expecting to get ksh25,000 from the 1/4 an acre on October from the maize harvest. From the attention of zidisha that has come to my knowledge am looking forward to make use of it to enhance my growth as a farmer.I am going to use the loan to buy more hens and also buy feeds since the amount of feeds will increase with an increase of the poultry or the hens.I live at the outskirts of Nakuru town.My Aunt has 1/4 an acre where i live.
I will use this loan to buy feeds for my chicken and also make sure that i have added some more chicks to add to my stock.also portion of this will go to logistics like extending the poultry house since the space may not be enough for extra chicken. Also as stated earlier i will employ some cash into growing of some vegetables to boost my income.Last is much thanks to zidisha team am grateful for your help.
