About Me

I am Evelyne Wanjiku Kibe, I am a 26 years old Kenyan. I come from a family of 6 members: father, mother two sisters and one brother, in the academic realm, I have studies the course Certified Information and Communication Technologists (CICT) offered by The Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board. Currently I run a computer services bureau that is located in Thika town, I was born and rased in Thika town Uhuru Street, Protoco Place, Ground Floor, Room A-1. At the premise I also sell stationery and snacks. I also do computer servicing and maintenance and on my spare time I do writing as it is something I enjoy doing. I like entrepreneurship because I believe it enables one do what they like best as well as I have a strong belief that in entrepreneurship lies the highest percentage of he solution to the state of joblessness which is not only a problem in Kenya but all over the world.

My Business

My business is a computer bureau. The services I offer at the premises are: photocopying, binding, printing, lamination, graphic design, photo editing, internet services, project building. I also build websites and tailor made programmes for different clients depending on their needs which I may not do at the premise but even a home in the tranquility. The challenges I face in my business are unfair competition from competitors who may price items as low as breakeven point just to have a customer. The other problem I face is breakdown of the computer or printers while at work which makes one loose business and at times a client may not trust that you can be able to deliver on time. The third challenge is that despite the desire to expand and grow, at times the ability to raise the desired capital is lacking so the business progresses slower than desired. The procees from my busdiness are first sent back to the businessto restock the stationery materials that is after I have deducted the pay from the business as well as paid rent for the premise. I later evaluate what is the pressing ned that customers have expresses whether a commodity or a service as gauge whether I can be able to avail the same, if I can I implement, if not I set a portion of the money aside so that i can top it up and be able to meet the need, the business is profitable first due to Gods blessings, secondly, due to its location close to most of the banking institutions whereby the clients who visis these institutions are in need of our services, my monthly costs pertaining to the business go up to Kshs 10,000, my sales and revenues add up to Kshs 30,000 to 38,000 on a good month inclusive of my field works.

Loan Proposal

I wish to use the money to replace my power supply unit in the CPU as it has oftenly been failing and the periodic repairs are proving more expensive. The computer had costed Kshs 15,000 back in 2011 . i am hoping that this step will improve the efficiency of the computer so that i can be able to work with it and consequently replace it with a new computer as it is depreciating and computers have now become cheaper. I also want to service my printer as the cradle printer is sometimes not sensing the papers. which has been making me lose a lot of customers and therefore reducing my income.
