My Business

My business
My business is called, Calvary Art Centre. It was started in the year 1998. I am the sole owner of the business, I work operate the daily operations and on certain occasions employ casual labourers.
In my business I make rubber stamps, name plates and budges. I provide screenprinting , painting, and signwriting services. There is demand for this goods and services because nakuru county is one of the fastest growing counties in east africa and is the headquaters of Rift Valley Province. New building are coming up, hence need for painting, schools and offices also require rubber stamps, name tags and budges. With the coming up of county governments there is a greater potential for the need of my services.

My customers prefer my services, because I charge fair prices and provide quality and timely services as compared to my competitors.

My business is profitable because I am able to make enough sales to buy stock, pay rent, meet my family needs and also save. My business faces the following risks, at times I have to work on storey building and have no insurance, there is also stiff competetition and delayed payments which lead to losses.

My typical monthly costs are:
Expenses
Rent 2000
stock 4000
Municipal charges 360
Total 6,360
Total average sales per month = 16,000
Average profit 10,000
