This page allows you to propose a change to your repayment schedule. If you choose to lengthen your repayment period, you will be asked to pay interest for the additional time the loan will be held, at the same annual interest rate as is applied to your current loan repayment schedule. If you shorten your repayment period, the interest you will be asked to pay will be reduced.

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that the repayment of 15.34 USD (1,290 KES) posted on October, 21 in the repayment schedule of Mr Kamanu was entered by mistake. This means that, upon removal of the transaction, the amount that had been credited to your lender account will be reversed and will reduce your available balances accordingly.

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please, let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Best regards,

    Roberta

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that on June, 5, while repaying his previous loan, Mr Kamanu made an overpayment of 900 KES (10.70 USD) which was not refunded to him. For this reason, we have now credited that payment on his current repayment schedule.

Mr Kamanu, we are sorry for this inconvenience and we wish you all the best with your barber shop!

    Best regards,

    Roberta

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that two payments made by Mr Kamanu while repaying his previous loan were not registered correctly:
    - on June, 5 an overpayment of 900 KES (10.70 USD) which was not refunded to him,
    - on March, 2 an payment of 1,450 KES (17.25 USD),

We have now credited those payments on his current repayment schedule. Mr Kamanu, we are sorry for this inconvenience and we wish you all the best with your barber shop!

    Best regards,

    Roberta

The competition between different groups of early humans was fierce. Those who could make better weapons, and those who were more skilled at using them had a distinct advantage. Increased competition, better parental care, better communication, and an increasingly complex lifestyle, all of these factors drove the evolution of a larger and more adaptable brain. Groups that evolved larger brains outcompeted and replaced groups that did not.

First is to thank Zidisha for Lending me with loan and to apologize for delaying the loan. The reason as to why I have reschedule my loan again is because my job is now settled from the time I shift my business from where I was. This will lower my loan interest and also help to complete my loan very fast. May God bless Zidisha very much.

Hello, my name is Dan Cembrola, one of Zidisha’s Kenya Client Relationship Managers. I am currently visiting Zidisha borrowers in Nakuru and its outskirts.

Today, I visited Jackson Kumanu at his kinyozi (barbershop). The kinyozi I visited was his first shop which he opened in 2009. Since receiving his loan from Zidisha, he has opened a second kinyozi in the nearby town of Maili Sita where he employs two barbers. Jackson has taken a three month course to become certified as a barber. He then served for five months as an apprentice to a local barber.

Jackson lives in the agrarian village of Kahuo. Like many villages in this area north of Nakuru, Kahuo has grown rapidly in the past few years. This rapid growth has necessitated the opening of clothing stores, restaurants, and, in Jackson’s case, barbershops. Prior to the recent influx of people, the village of Kahuo was essentially a small farming community with little need or market for any added amenities. Jackson, and other entrepreneurs in the area, have taken advantage of the population growth and are opening businesses that could previously only be found in more urban environs.

Though Jackson is taking advantage of the developing economy in his village, he also maintains a farm where he grows maize and owns two cattle. He was routinely selling milk from his cattle in the village before he decided to open a “Milk Bar.” Essentially, Jackson travels to farms in the community and purchases milk for 30 Kenyan Schillings per liter and resells the liters at his Milk Bar for 40 Kenyan Schillings. This business enables farmers who live in more remote areas and lack access to motorized transportation to get their milk to the market.

In addition to his two kinyozis and Milk Bar, Jackson also owned a general store. He had to close it temporarily in August due to a domestic issue. This caused him to reschedule his loan. He expects to complete payment on his current loan by early 2013.

With his next loan, Jackson plans to open the village’s first internet café, further developing the future of Kahuo.

First is to thank Zidisha for Lending me with loan and to apologize for delaying the loan. The reason as to why I have reschedule my loan is because I have shift my business from where I was. This will help me not to delay my loan. During shifting I used more money by transporting, building shelves, painting which I could use to pay my loan.
