About Me

I am married with 4 children. All of them are schooling. I am a business farmer. I grow fast growing crops that I sell to the consumers to earn a living. I live in kiptangwanyi shopping centre in my plot Number 29 house number 1.

My Business

My business entails the growing fast crops that I sell throughout the year. I grow food crops such as beans, peas, potatoes and tomatoes. these crops grow very fast and are readily available for sale after a very short duration. the main challenges that the business face are drought, pests and diseases and frequent frost that affect my crops. Currently I am using my revenues to imrove the methods of farming that i am currently using and thus improve the quality of my products.

Loan Proposal

I would like to increase the acreage of my farm since the one I have is small. I would also like to introduce fast growing fruits such as passion fruits and watermelons. These fruits have a very high demand here and this will be a great opportunity for me. Lastly I would like to start using the modern techniques of farming to improve the quantity as well as the quality of my products.

    Dear lenders,

I spoke today with Mr. Kamau. He had tried to send an email to inform Zidisha of the reason his repayments have been delayed, but we had not received it. It seems that several months ago, Mr. Kamau's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor, and is now undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatments, which cost KSH 20,000 (USD 250). Mr. Kamau has been raising money from family, friends, and neighbors, in order to pay for his wife's treatment. In an additional stroke of misfortune, Mr. Kamau's son was recently in a serious road accident and required emergency medical care, adding to Mr. Kamau's financial burden. Mr. Kamau reiterated his commitment to somehow repaying the Zidisha loan once his family's medical expenses are taken care of.

    Regards,

    Julia Kurnia
    Director, Zidisha Inc.

You may need to click the + View More to the right of Repayment Schedule. Then you will see in blue "I would like to forgive my share of this loan." which you can click. I hope this helps. Hoping the best for Mr. Kamau and his family as well.
