About Me

I am married and have five children, four of them are schooling. I live in Kiptangwanyi tading centre which is about 42km from Nakuru town. Kiptangwanyi is in Gilgil District, Kiambogo division.I live in my own plot number 850 where my business is. I started a small business where i earn my living in the year 2003. this is where I rely wholly on my living as well as where I meet my family needs from.

My Business

My business entails a posho mill, a welding and battery charging machine. I combined this business together and operate all of them under one roof. there is high demand for the services I offer as I offer several of them under one roof. I also charge my customers slightly lower prices than my competitors making them prefer my services. the main challenges that I encounter in my business are high cost of electricity and frequent power rationing. Currently I am saving some money to buy a generator that will be acting as a backup when there is a power blackout.

Loan Proposal

I would like to purchase a generator that will be acting as a backup for power during the time of power blackout. Since all my machines, i.e the poshomill, battery charging machine and welding, use electricity, I have been losing a lot of money during power interuptions which is so common in this area. I will be very glad if I will be enabled to purchase a generator through the loan that I will be granted by Zidisha and utilize my opportunity of offering the services that I offer to my customers in my business to the fullest.

    Dear Lenders,
My name is Analin Saturria McGregor and I'm a Communications Associate with Zidisha.
Ms. Monica Njoki, the community officer who acted as Mr. Kimani's reference when he applied for his loan, informed us today that Mr. Kimani was cleared from liability regarding the motorcycle accident he had (as he explained in his November comment) at the January trial. However, the trial has taken a severe toll on Samwel's finances. Legal fees and days spent in court have seriously affected his income generation. Ms. Njoki noted to us how deeply concerned she saw Mr. Kimani due to the fact that he is late on his loan repayments. She will mediate in assisting Mr. Kimani with his future loan repayments. He is currently focusing on getting back to his business in full capacity after a long legal battle. We at Zidisha are glad to hear Samwel's case is now closed and wish him the best in his business in the upcoming months.

    Dear Lenders,

I have a pending case in the court because of a motorbike accident I was involved with. The case will be through in December. I would like to continue making payments on January eleventh of 2013. This case has caused my business to go down but it will start going back up next month.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Samwel Kimani

    Dear lenders.
I would like to reschedule my loan as I have been undergoing some financial difficulties. My poshomill broke down and has not been functioning for two months. This poshomill has been a very good source of income for me and since it broke down I have not been able to pay my repayments. Currently I am trying my best to make sure that the poshomill is repaired and that I able to pay back my loan again.
