I am married and have five children, four of them are schooling. I live in Kiptangwanyi tading centre which is about 42km from Nakuru town. Kiptangwanyi is in Gilgil District, Kiambogo division.I live in my own plot number 850 where my business is. I started a small business where i earn my living in the year 2003. this is where I rely wholly on my living as well as where I meet my family needs from.
My business entails a posho mill, a welding and battery charging machine. I combined this business together and operate all of them under one roof. there is high demand for the services I offer as I offer several of them under one roof. I also charge my customers slightly lower prices than my competitors making them prefer my services. the main challenges that I encounter in my business are high cost of electricity and frequent power rationing. Currently I am saving some money to buy a generator that will be acting as a backup when there is a power blackout.
I would like to purchase a generator that will be acting as a backup for power during the time of power blackout. Since all my machines, i.e the poshomill, battery charging machine and welding, use electricity, I have been losing a lot of money during power interuptions which is so common in this area. I will be very glad if I will be enabled to purchase a generator through the loan that I will be granted by Zidisha and utilize my opportunity of offering the services that I offer to my customers in my business to the fullest.
