Greetings lenders! My name is Neil DiMuccio, and I am a Client Relationship Manager with Zidisha in Kenya. I am currently visiting borrowers to learn more about them and support them with their Zidisha loans. It is my hope that this work will build bridges to better connection and understanding, and that Zidisha and its borrowers will increasingly grow, communicate, and support each other.

I was recently able to meet with Monica Mukuhi a number of times in Karunga, a small agricultural community some 12 kilometers North and East of Nakuru. Monica runs the local Safaricom M-PESA shop in Karunga, and although she’s only been running the shop for 1 year, she is doing very well! Many towns have multiple M-PESA shops in the same area, making demand for any one particular agent quite low. This is not the case in Karunga, however, where she appears to be the only agent in the small town. Monica and her husband had a number of questions that I was able to help them out with. As a result of Monica’s great business, she was recently able to make a large lump-sum repayment on her first loan, and is thus currently fundraising for her second loan. Congratulations, Monica! The Zidisha community supports you and your hard work to the fullest.

Monica was also able to help me by selling Safaricom modem credit, which I needed to use to complete Zidisha work on-site in Karunga, which has no cyber cafe. The nearest public cyber cafe is some 10 kilometers away, which entails quite a bit of effort/cost for the citizens of Karunga to use the internet. Perhaps Monica can start a cyber cafe in her shop? I know she would have many Zidisha clients using it, if she did!

Thanks again for your time, attention, and prompt service, Monica! Zidisha wishes you all the best in your continued business growth.

I would like to add float money in my M-Pesa account for good effectiveness of my business. On top of that I would like also to buy two upgraded cows, chaff cutter machine to enable me to produce more milk to my customers and also improve my daily farming. This will uplift my living condition. By so doing I'll be able to apply new loan.

When one is happy at times one is out of words. I thank God for helping me to meet with Zidisha Organization; I also wish to thank you responding my request in a very short time. These funds will differently improve my business in a great way. May our good Lord bless you abundantly and more so to expand your territory so that you can reach many who are in need. Mathew 5:7 “blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” thanks ones again. Live long Zidisha.
