About Me

I am Angeline Bosire a forth born in a family of six. I go to St. Josephs the worker catholic church in race course langa-langa. I was born in 12 april 1991, I later joined my primary school in Machururiati primary school for one year and later joined Mwangaza academy till I did my class eight. I joined rangenyo high school after high school I joined St. Pauls Nyabururu Teachers college and did my P1 I did my attachment internship in Muslim Primary School. After I completed my college education I decided to keep myself busy, I started a business.

My Business

I have been doing poultry keeping, for the last one and a half years in the outskirts of Nakuru town (Ingobor-mogoon). Mogoon is approximately 7kilometers from Nakuru town opposite rift valley institute of science and technology. I choose to do the poultry rearing business due to the increasing number of customers due to the big population in Nakuru town created by the 2007-2008 post election violence influx. I keep both local and exotic breeds both for meat and eggs (layers and broilers). Initially I used to keep exotic but due to the high demand for the local meat and eggs I introduced the local ones which is doing so well. This business is also done by a number of farmers in the area, due to the knowledge and experience I acquired in my family farm I have been able to cut done the operations cost and maximize profits which also enables me to offer my products at a cheaper price. Currently I have 400 chickens both exotic and indigenous. Monthly I incur a total expense of 40,000 inclusive of labour, Chicken feeds, electricity and other miscellaneous expenses, Monthly revenue of 80,000

Loan Proposal

I would like to thank the Zidisha team for having faith in me and giving me the opportunity to be able to grow financially. i will use the amount advanced to me to add new chicks (200), that will that will in turn help me achieve financial stability. i will use the remainder diligently to make a chicken coop(hen house) with nest boxes and perches to be able to accommodate the extra 200 chicken that i'll add to my brood. God bless you all.

I would like to thank zidisha for the continuous help they are extending to us. personally i would wish to clear my loan early, hence my need to reschedule the loan i want to pay 2200 as opposed to the current 1400, this will reduce my transaction costs and may even in-turn save me on the intrest to be paid. Thanks please grant my wish.

    Dear lenders,
Thank you for your continuous financial support, I invested my first loan wisely by buying additional chicks constructed some laying nests and expanded my chicken coop. Currently am laying off 200 chickens which were part of my initial stock, I have decided to sell them because they have declined in their eggs production and can be used for meat in this festive season at a higher profit. Am looking forward to clear my loan very soon and apply for a second loan which I will use to buy broilers approximately (250) two hundred and fifty chicks. I got the business idea from my buyers who are demanding white meat (chicken)
Am also planning to engage more in indigenous chicken this is because most of the hotels and restaurants are demanding more indigenous meat because the meat has a lot of nutrients and preferred by most of their customers.
Its also advantageous to poultry keepers like myself to rear them because they incur less expenses since their food supplements are cheaper and also are disease resistant as compared to the exotic breeds.

Looking forward to seeing your success with your raising of chickens. Good care makes an excellent product and I look forward to hearing about your new ideas for a hen house, chicken coop and nesting boxes. Sounds like a great start to a good business!
