Am Eunice Akarot, a resident of Akadetarai location, olabai sub location, Teso North District Busia County. Am married and blessed with five children. I started my business to provide for my family and to supplement what my husband pays as school fees. I was motivated to start this kind of business after the job my husband was doing came to end after the intended period. Having the basic skills of a secondary education and having further trained in dressmaking and fashion design, I started my business. With the little resources I managed to expand my business and at the moment I am proud of what I did because all my children are in school and we are leaving happily with my husband as a family
I run a business by the name Family garments. I started the business with only one sewing machine and twenty meters of materials. At first the business didn’t peak as I expected but with time the business started doing well, my business location gives an added advantage against my competitors; the location is strategic because it is located near two primary schools and a youth polytechnic of which they are primary customers. When I started this business I mainly dealt with individual customers but after I gained valuable experience I was approached by one school of which I did extremely wonderful job, they were very happy of what am doing, and because of the quality of products I produce, another school approached me two weeks ago and as we are speaking the demand for my products has really gone up and currently my greatest challenge is to meet the demand, so far I have managed to get some few shillings but it is not enough to buy another sewing machine, so I really need this money to buy another machine so that I can meet the demand. Currently the total cost of running my business is Ksh 30,000 per month and my total revenue is Ksh 70,000 per month, my average net profit is Ksh 35,000. I will really be happy if get this money to expand my business. Thank you.
i would like to thank zidisha team for having given me my first loan in the last four months which i successfully managed to repay in three months as required.I managed to improve my sales and give my customers up to date services.
I would like to apply for the second loan so that i can add my stock during Christmas holidays .This will attract many customers to my business as many children and women will be buying new cloths.By so doing my sales will go up during this holidays and when schools open early January 2014 there will be a big rush for school uniform supply.I expect to do good business this period to maximize my profit gains.
I am very optimistic that with Zidisha loan i shall achieve my target.
Thank you,Eunice Akarot.
