About Me

I am married with four kids living in Kiptangwanyi shopping centre. Three of my kids are in school. I live at the shopping centre which is about 42km from Nakuru town. I live in plot number 710 with my family and husband. I operate a cereals shop at the shopping centre.

My Business

I operate a cereals shop at the shopping centre. The business is profitable as the shopping centre is a ggod hub of the sorrounding areas that are highly productive. There is also ready market for my products because of the neighbouring big towns such as Nakuru, Gilgil and Naivasha. The main challenges that the business encounter are poor transport, drought and high cost of living.

Loan Proposal

I would like to use my loan to buy more cereals for my business.

dear my lenders, i have been in some difficulty during the repayment of my loan, this is because my first born boy was to join high school this year. i decided to take him to school first and then i could pay my loan. since i had borrowed money for school fees, i had to refund the money to our local bank with an interest rate of 20%. am now over all those problems.i have decided to reschedule my loan and am going to pay the full amount at once on august.

Greetings lenders! My name is Neil and I am a Client Relationship Manager with Zidisha currently in Kenya.

I recently met with Ms. Njeri's husband, Alfred, and had a good discussion at their shop in Kiptangwanyi, a small agricultural town some 30km southeast of Nakuru. Alfred was very honest with me, and explained that business was quite down. Their shop sells beans, grains, and other staples, and did not have much stock when I visited. Alfred explained that this small stock was all they had, and indeed, in our 40-minute visit, they did not have a single customer.

Alfred also explained that their oldest son had been accepted to attend a good secondary school, but that the family was struggling to raise the fees necessary for him to attend. In fact, he even asked if he could borrow further from Zidisha for this purpose, something we currently cannot accommodate.

Alfred explained that like most families in the area, they run a small shop and have a shamba (farm), where they also do some growing. When one parent is at the shop, the other is working the shamba, and they trade off. This is all the information that I have for you at the moment, but I wanted to share my experience and take this time to wish the family all the best in their struggle to make ends meet.
