MY BUSINESS INCLUDE RETAIL AND HARDWARE SHOP
I am Peter Kamau Ndibaru, a businessman in Kiptangwanyi which about 45 kilometers from Nakuru my business entails a shop and hardware at the shopping center. This shop I started a long time ago and it has been the sole source of living for the whole of my family. We rely on this business in order to sustain our basic needs and also to meet the education needs of our daughters and sons. The business is situated in a suitable location and thus providing me with a wide range of customers. I serve many customers within the locality. The shop were I sell various variety of human consumption has a wide range of customers, also my hardware catches a wide range because I sell the spare part of both bicycle and motorbike because many people in Kiptangwanyi have bought motorbike thus making the spare part more demanding, The main challenges that this business encounter is lack of enough funds to expand the business.
. My business grows up to a level of employing someone else to help me, my business name is Kamau retail hardware shop, which I named after my Name because I am the manager of the business because the business I the one who own it (soleproprietership). The business Is located at a strategic position thus making me to attract more customers also there is less competition for business offering the same commodities such as hardware thus making the business profitable, also I operate the business on my own plot. My business is also insured for any kind of risk which may occur such as fire outbreak. My stock is worthy ksh 150000,but I continue adding the stock gradually i.e three times a month. The main challenge facing my business is lack of money as I go the shopping.
My short term goal is to crate employment among young generation especially to my own children, my long term goal is to open another business within our locality especially at Munanda and Game where I am well known and there is high demand of the product i wanted to offer because I wanted to start buying the cereals in those area .My business is licensed under the county council of Nakuru municipality to make it legal. My typical monthly cost is khs 950000, sale revenue is around ksh 60000 and profit is above 25000 but I am planning to earning more from the business.
