About Me

I am 31yrs old, married with three children who are schooling. I live in Kiptangwanyi shopping centre in Nakuru county. i engage in the business of selling cereals in kiptangwanyi centre. I started the business in 2003 to support my family since formal employment was difficult to get in this country. This is where I rely 100% to earn a living for my family.

My Business

My business entails selling cereals such as maize, beans, wheat, rice and other dry grains. The business is situated in KIptangwanyi trading centre. The centre is 42km from Nakuru town. Once along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway, branch at pipeline, 9 km from Nakuru along Elementaita road. Once in Elementaita, Kiptangwanyi trading centre is about 11km along Jogoo road. The business is in the middle of the centre since Kiptangwanyi is a small busy shopping centre. It is in Naivasha constituency, Gilgil district(it is a new district), Kiambogo Division, Mitimingi location, Kiptangwanyi sublocation. There is high demand for these commodities since they are a basic commodity which is consumed by the entire society. customers prefer buying from me since I provide fresh products from the farmers and at a fairer price than my competitors. The problems that the business face are transport problems especially during the rainy season and also drought which affect the sources of the products that I sell. my monthly costs include electricity, water, rent and transport costs. Currently I am using my sales revenue and profit to expand my business but still this is not enough. I would be glad if the organization can assist me with a certain amount to boost my business since the demand is high but the supply is low due to lack of enough cash.

Loan Proposal

I would like to use the loan that will be provided to me by Zidisha to: First, to increase the stock of my business. Since I engage in selling of cereals and dry grains it has been difficult for me to supply my customers with the commodities that i sell continously due to lack of finances. I will therefore use the loan granted to me by Zidisha to ensure that I have enough supplies for my customers that will be supplied to them continously. Secondly I have a small store that I have been using to store my grains and will therefore use the amount given to me by Zidisha to expand my store since storage is very important in this business. By increasing the capacity of my store I will be able to handle larger volumes of the cereals that I sell and this will help a great deal in providing my customers with this commodities continously.
