About Me

i am 26 years old and am the third born in a family of seven inclusive of my parents.I live in zebra estate plot no. 85 with my parents and siblings.I am a high school teacher in a nearby school (airways high school) and also a business lady.I am a graduate from Maseno university with a degree in education.I started a charcoal sale business so as to boost my income from teaching to take care of my day to day expenses and also to school my younger sister taking a parallel course in maseno university and also school my younger brother in high school.I purchase gas cylinders from the earnings from my business since i want to start selling petroleum gas instead of charcoal which is better in conserving our forests and wild life compared to charcoal.I also need the loan to boost my earnings since i have a few distant cousins whose fee i pay for partly since they were orphaned at a tender age.

My Business

Apart from teaching, I am a business lady involved in sale of charcoal in whole sale and retail as a source of energy.Most institutions(e.g schools) and homes use charcoal as a source of energy and since i offer lower prices and am nearest compared to other distant charcoal sellers, this gives me a higher cutting edge and sometimes i find my stock is not enough for my customers.The business is profitable since i get the charcoal sacks from makueni county at a low price and transport them cheaply via the trailers from Mombasa to Nairobi where the commodity is slightly expensive.I make more profit since i sell in both wholesale and retail.The only challenge in this business is the money i spend on transport and fee to the authorities to run it.My monthly costs are kshs 60,000 and sales revenue of kshs 110,000 giving me a profit of almost kshs 50,000 per month.

Loan Proposal

if am granted the loan i intend to use it to use 25,000 of it to increase the number of charcoal sacks by ten to meet the increasing demands of my customers.i will then use the remaining 16,870 plus my savings of 52,000 to purchase a few gas cylinders so that i can start a gas supply depot of a few cylinders for a start.
