About Me

My name is Augustine Mungoma Otanga and a resident of Royal Girls Estate in Barnabas Estate that is off Nakuru -Naivasha highway.I board Shiners boys matatu and alight at royal girls which is like 100 meters from the highway.I am the first born in our family of five members and my siblings are in various colleges in Nakuru and Nairobi.I have undergone a coarse in knitting from a local college in Naivasha.
I ventured also in business where i started a knitting project.Knitting is very relaxing and you can relax and really enjoy this hobby once you figure out how to knit basic stitches and patterns. In financial savings I knit all types including a beanie.I come up with different styles and patterns that i have in my local stores.Basic yarn, needles and other supplies are cheap.Learning new skills or craft makes me feel good about myself and this is true particularly when my clients, family and friends admire my knitting projects. As a benefit to my family,i make handmade beautiful gifts with practice and perseverance like scarves, caps and blankets which are just a few of the hand-crafted items that i can give to my loved ones. Many charitable started liking my knitting.I now sometimes make caps for premature infants at my local hospital, knit scarves for women's shelters and the homeless as far as giving back to society. There are many other reasons why i took up knitting.I found more things to appreciate about it.I became a yarn addict as many knitters do and i try to get other people involved in this hobby as well.

My Business

In the computer age,Knitting is still extremely popular economically and as a relaxing hobby enjoyed by millions of people all over the world.for knitting beginners it can be tempting to start ambitious or overly complicated projects. While any knitter can quickly work their way up to a high level of proficiency, as with all new skills, any one has to walk before you can run and thats how i have more success because i started with simple patterns.Research states that knitting has a chemical effect on the brain. It changes brain chemistry for the better, possibly by decreasing stress hormones and increasing fell good.I started knitting seriously in college, and i loved that wool was a natural fiber and the result was a great creative challenge,a finished garment and later, pocket money as i started to sell them. While listening to the dire news about the downturn in our economy and how an increase in number of jobless in Kenya, I have been reflecting that hand crafts like knitting provide a wonderful combination of lifestyle benefits for a wide variety of people. On a good month am able to make more than twenty thousand as net profit which i use to support my family.Through your funds am planning on how to expand my business to a larger one.
