I am 24 years of age born and brought up in Munathiiri Village, Mbeere Sub-county, Embu County in the Eastern part of Kenya. I went to Mariari Girls Secondary school before proceeding to Law school but dropped due to lack of school fees. I stayed with my aunt who is a nurse and also has a consultancy where she offers certificate courses in nursing and pharmacy. I enrolled in certificate in pharmacy and after I graduated I started my own chemist from my small earnings.
I am a resilient person who believes in handwork, prayers and commitment in anything I do. When I was growing up I realize that most people in the village were unable to afford proper medical care due to lack of money and the long distance to the hospital. I therefore decided to start my own pharmacy to be able to assist the less fortunate people in the society who needed proper medical care. During my free time I do enjoy singing and reading inspiring medical books.
Basically I deal with offering viral antibiotics and fungal drugs to my patients, as well as conducting some minor dressing. The services I offer are so much in demand since most people do fall sick from bacterial, fungal and viral infections and due to the high level of poverty, they cannot afford medication from private and government hospitals which prove costly and are far away. For every purchase I make I normally incur a purchase cost of about USD100, from which on average, I realize revenue of USD140 (profits of approx. $40 - $50) . Every purchase do not last more than a month. I normally use the part of profit I earn to renovate my home and the remaining balance I use to expand my business.
Dear Lenders, I plan to increase my medical inventory / supplies especially the viral and anti-fungal medications that are of very high demand. This will ensure all my patients get any medication they require and will alleviate the need to walk long distances to private and governmental hospitals that are far and costly. I expect my business to improve in terms of revenue and customer satisfaction. Thanks and God bless.
