About Me

My name is Moses Katembu. I am a Software Engineer by Profession and currently doing my Post Graduate studies in Business Administration. Above all I am husband and father to a one lovely Daughter.
All my friends can agree that am am passionate business minded person and opportunity seeker. My current business has been importing Poultry/Animal Equipments(Incubators and Nipple Drinkers) from China and selling them locally. The major reason I started this business was help farmers reduce diseases and water wastage since Poultry Nipple drinkers are more safer clean and can be automated. With success of this I started incorporating other equipments like Poultry Incubators, Rabbit and Pig Nipple Drinkers. Most of my earning from my business have been using it to purchase more stocks and also increasing my minimum order quantity. Luckily I have also been able to purchase small piece of land from the profit and am planning to start farming later.
My major goal is of this business is to have at-least each household with Poultry using Nipple drinkers instead of the conventional method which are not hygiene and economical. Am also planning to diversify into poultry rearing of ingenious and exotic birds.

Apart from business and family live am very friendly and caring person. I believe that friendship is one of the most important values in human life. We exchange new ideas, find many interesting things about each other and experience new things. I appreciate friendship and people who surround me. I love outdoor activities and adventures like mountaineering.

Am optimistic that with your help and support my business will one day make enough money to enable me buy land and start a school or college or maybe university in the near future.

My Business

I am full time employed and I will use part of my salary to repay the loan.
Being one of the few people who introduced Nipple drinkers to the ordinary farmer, the demand has been increasing and am working closely with farmers, Agrovets and Veterinary officers who acting as referral to other potential customers. At the moment my apart from cost of goods my business minimal operating expense since am selling the nipple drinkers from home and online extra cost are borne by Customers. I will use part of my profit from this Business to offset the Loan payment.

Loan Proposal

I want to increase my stock of Nipple Drinkers. Nipple drinkers are more safer and advantageous compared to conventional poultry waterer system. Some advantages include:

1. Hooks up to a regular garden hose & refills automatically- water cannot run out, get warm or stagnate and algae cannot grow
2. Provides a fresh, clean, cold water supply
3. No need for constant refilling by the chicken-keeper during hot weather
4. Stainless steel nipples will not rust, corrode or clog
5. Nipples allow access to water on demand.
6. Water supply easily accessed for the addition of apple cider vinegar, supplements or medications
7. Ideal for day old chicks since they prevent drowning of chicks.
8. Reduce water needed to clean them, hence lesser water wastage.
9. Reduce spread of water contaminated diseases hence are hygiene.

I will use about 30 -35 dollars to purchase 300 nipple drinkers and the balance I will use it to do clearing from customs.
I truly believe proceed from Poultry Farming can be used to achieving Millennium Goals, alleviating poverty and making country food sufficient. This can only be achieved be reducing water wastage and reducing poultry deaths which our Nipple Drinkers drinkers seek to address. Thank you for your support.
