About Me
My name is Irene Kawira Muliuki ,Iam the
4th born in a family of six siblings.My family
lives in Maua,Meru and i reside in Maua town,where I have a retail shop and an mpesa shop.
I studied Business management at Kenya Methodist
university and completed my diploma program in
the year 2015.Due to my passion in the business sector i have have opened a retail shop dealing with home products e.g Sugar,flour,salt among other home consumables,and also sell khat which is commonly consumed by Maua residents.,am also planning
to venture into milk selling business come next month.
During my free time i like visiting other business people to share ideas.
My Business
My source of income is purely based on the
re flows i get from the shop and also from my Khat shamba.When I receive the funding I will use some part in adding stock for my shop i.e I will buy more khat and sell at some profit,the other ammount I will use to add to the mpesa float which I believe it will double up the profit.
The risk associated with the business is that at times khat selling is seasonal such that during rainy season the price goes down immensely because there is a lot of production, therefore khat business is purely
based on unpredictable weather pattern .I Have put
measures to diversify the risk by having a foodstuff retail shop and an M-pesa shop.in order to merge the risks.
My monthly cost are US$ 150 my revenue is $
250-300 US$
I use the profits for business expansion and daily upkeeps, I also some parts in educating my little sister who is in primary school education level.
There fore when I receive the loan I will make some imense changes which will not only improve my business but also will improve livelihoods of Kenyans.
Loan Proposal
Due to the rising demand of bottled water in our region i will use the funds in purchasing 2 pieces of 24 packed bottled water which i will buy at an wholesale price of 10.1 US$ and i will sell at a retail price of one bottle at 0.4 US$ therefore the 48 pieces will amount to 19.2 US$ therefore i will make up 9.1 US$ which will be almost 100% profit,which will see my business grow and smooth repayment of the lean.
