About Me

My name is Martin Bundi Maina, A Kenyan Citizen, From Muranga County, Mathioya Constituency, Gitugu ward. Am married and have one baby girl by the name Mercy. I finished my Kenya Cerificate of secondary education in 2008, Due to lack of school fees to join any university in Kenya I decided to venture in business. Currently I stay in Githurai 45 with the family and goes to Muthurwa market in Nairobi City every morning to do my business of selling ladies, shoes. In Kenya there is a lot of business opportunities especially for the youth. I started my business from my personal saving , and loan from friends, . I have identified shoe business and I want to expand it to be able to supply even in the upcountry even outside Kenya. Currently am doing the business as a sole trader and I have been looking for ways to raise finance until my friend Peter Njunge introduced me to Zidisha.I started my business to be able to earn a living and be able to support my family and my children education fees, The earnings from the business I use them to expand the business and support my family through paying monthly bills, Am looking forward to a bigger business venture through support of Zidisha

My Business

My business deals mainly with ladies shoe and am intending to expand even to kid’s shoe if I get more finances. My source of income in from the business that am running currently and will be used to repay the loan incase am successful. Shoe business for Ladies is doing very well especially in Nairobi where you find ladies having even 20 pairs of shoe. I decided to venture into this business due to the buying behavior for ladies especially shoes. Unlike men lady will buy shoe even she bought another one yesterday. I expect competition from other traders but am planning to sell more superior goods and provide discount incase one buys more than one pair of shoe. The discount will be 10% for the second pair of shoe. The monthly cost Ksh80, 000, Monthly sales Ksh.100, 000 and Monthly profit Ksh.20, 000

Loan Proposal

As i mentioned in my profile, my business deals mainly with ladies shoe, this loan will help me to add more stock with different varieties and sizes since this will give customers a wide variety to choose from. i also intend to introduce kids shoes since they are also fast moving, they come second after ladies shoes. the benefit to be created by this action is that these different varieties will increase customer flow and at the same time increase impulse buying i.e. one came to buy her shoe and finds a good shoes for her child and ends up buying for both though it was not planned. this has the effect of increasing sales volumes. am requesting this loan from lenders because it will help me apart from increasing stock it will also help me to diversify from the urban market which is my only market and venture to rural unexploited market.
