About Me

My
name is David Odhiambo, am a male Kenyan aged 26yrs, I dropped in form
three because I could not get my primary education certificate which I
sat in Uganda, and therefore was time barred. Am singe and a
businessman, I operate small scale businesses that have kept me busy
enough not to engage in unlawful activities as is the case with many
school drop – outs. I started business to sustain myself and am happy
with the decision I took, though I plan to finish high school once I get
the documents and am saving towards that goal.

My Business

I
ventured into business fourteen months after all my efforts to go back
to school proved futile. With little savings and part of the school fee I
was to pay for my final year, I started a mini shop. A year later I
converted the shop into M-PESA which I operate to- date. However, I
don’t have enough float which sometimes results into low business
return. With this loan I will increase the float which will translate
into higher commission. On average I get $127 monthly commission and
another $46 from the sales of Safaricom products such as credit
vouchers, lines and sim swaps, and phone charging.
After paying all the bills am left with $24 as my personal savings. I
will use this plus any other surplus that will come from improved
business to service the loan. As I look forward to owning an M-PESA
agency in the near future.

Loan Proposal

Thank you for activating my profile. I will use this money to increase the float for my M-pesa Till. This will enable me serve many customers and subsequently increasing my income. With improved income I will grow my business to my desired level by always meeting the customers demand. Am looking forward to working with Zidisha for a better future.

Hello the business has been low due to heavy rains that have literally stalled everything……. I have been forced to relocate my business to a safer ground but still the return is very low therefore I want to reduce my payments hopping to increase the same when the business returns to normal. Thanks God bless you.

Thank you my god lenders for your patience, as I stated earlier I enrolled to school, and everything is going on well, however, I have exams which have slowed down my payments. Though in the next few weeks I am finishing the exams thus will have more time to manage the business as I plan for the next term. May God bless you

Hello my lenders I wish to inform you that my business has not been doing well in the recent past, this is because my business solely depends on fishermen who have been affected by the emerging drought.
I therefore wish to reduce the payment to amount that ca n be comfortable with to avoid falling into arrears, thank.

Hello, not enough people supported your loan and I don't know why. You only had less than an hour, so I took a risk.

    David,

I like your loan proposal. Unfortunately I don't have funds currently available to lend. (Out of 15 loans I have made, 5 are repaying late. As a result, I am unable to re-lend until I get more repayments. The other 10 are doing well.)

Don't give up hope and keep striving to succeed!

Oh! It is another day and am happy to successfully get a replacement for my GSM card. I lost my phone and those who stole it tried to withdraw the money in my account using my phone so i called (Safaricom) and blocked the line. That is why i have not submitted my last two payments. Now my line is back and operational I want to compensate for the late payment by doubling my payments. Thanx for your understanding and God bless all.
