I was born in a family of six and brought up by a single parent . I studied up to secondary where I fail to continue to college due to lack of funds. In 2003 I luckily got employed which helped me support my mother, my family and advance my education to a diploma in community development. In June 2010 I was laid off by my employer due to tough economy that he faced, I used part my benefits (500dollar) to start a beauty shop which i run to date where cash i used to pay the rent, licenses and stock up the shop. I got support from my community who purchased from my shop regularly as my price is pocket friendly. I am doing this for myself and my children so that when they grow up they will learn to be self reliant and take the business to greater heights. In my free time am a campaigner of a drug free society where am the coordinator and work local youth groups
Am running a hotel business in Nakuru in langalanga town which I started 2 years ago. It was started from a humble beginning with only one bench but today it can accommodate 8 seated customers at ago. This hotel has been experiencing vast growth due to quality food, customer service and reasonable prices. The quantity of food has been also another reason where customer flows due to availability of goods and services. I have cut short expenses by providing some products direct from my farm such as milk, eggs, onions, tomatoes and other horticulture products. This has reduced my expenses with 35% and thus increasing my profit margin. I am planning to expand my services by doing outside catering in various occasions like weddings, parties, graduations, birthdays and dowry ceremony among others and also establishing many other hotel businesses in towns around my area and Kenya at large. This venture will require more money to be realized so am looking forward for a platform to borrow from Zidisha Team.
Hi lenders thanks a lot for accepting my request to become a zidisha
borrower, my business is that of a median restaurant dealing with chips and ready meat. The reason why I want more funds is to extend my hotel space, in terms of additional equipments and raw-material. The additional funds will enable me to get direct to the producers, and in return, lower cost of potatoes and meat. This is the estimated plan on how the funds will improve my restaurant status:
1. Potatoes per Bag-$18.75- ksh 1500
2. Transport, labor other costs –$31.25- ksh 2500
This will total a sum of $100 – ksh 4000. This additional fund will increase my production, low cost and hence increased customers leading to increased income margin. Please consider my application. Thank you.
