About Me

Cobbina Robert in his childhood was smallish and like telling stories in class. I brought up by my step mother and after my father's death at the age of fourteen. I started doing labour work at construction site for more than six to seven years and through that I manage to complete my JHS education and continued with my labour work till again I finished my SHS education too, all with my little savings and a little help from Sinor brother and sometimes my step mother. With my hard work, one lawyer enrolled me into a business school but unfortunately he traveled to abroad for further studies and I was dropped from the school after the first term due to lack of funds. I sponsored myself from my savings and enrolled into sunyani polytechnic and be hold or not after two semesters I was stop for failing to raise $500 at that time 2006. After all these school problems, I apprentice myself Tiles, pavement, slaps laying and block mouldings and came out sussefully to become self employed which till now I'm doing as my profession. I have benefitted from this work a lot as it has empowered me to look after my three children and on top of it all I have employed four of my family members into the work which has also help them in their school expenses and general well being of their lives. With three kids which the Lord has blessed me with, two girls and a boy which two of them want to be doctors and the other girl want to be a lawyer. In fact it is not an easy task looking for three kids and a wife but hard work and determination I'm doing fine. With the rich culture values I was born into help me to be self discipline and hamble. I wanted to be a footballer at that time but because of my size and my step mother I was living with couldn't help that ambition but thank God I'm doing fine and still love football as my best game in livewwith music to console myself.

My Business

With hard work dedication and trueffulness , I'm able to get sub- contract from individuals and institutions like schools, companies and many more. Cobbina Robert now has a registered enterprise in registry department in Ghana which is LORNASAH ENT. in sunyani. We now do pavement and tiles, slabs moulding and laying, landscaping, flowering and Block factory which is on the way coming. Of all these I have never had any help or loan from anybody or Bank to expand my business but the little I save has brought me this far. I have done a lot of work in Sunyani and around like Lorry stations, Banks premises, individual homes, schools, durber grounds and many more in terms of pavement and landscaping. Lornasah Ent has eight people whom I work with and five people are paid every day they come to work between $5 to $10 per each head. One will wonder why I chose this work by the way, as a smart guy I got to know a lot of people in the construction busines have neglected landscaping and pavement around our homes and I tell you one of the important areas where an apartment needs. Now people have accepted it and trust me they need our services every moment. Though the work is lucrative but it is costly interns of machines and moulds that always you need to do the work with and because the rubber moulds are of different design, each contract you take if you are not lucky enough you will buy a new one and it make financing the work very difficult in raising funds. But with all these difficulties if you are able to do, let's say a land scape of 200m2, after everything I mean labour cost and other cost associated with the work , you will still get about $100 as your net profit which is quiet good.

Loan Proposal

Once again thank you Zidisha for your support in my business. I was able to buy the machine as I said ( Electric block machine ) with the loan I had though, the price was double to the loan amount I took but I was able to buy it. I'm therefore requesting for another loan of $400 to installed the machine and put to use since the cost of the machine and my kids school fees couldn't allow me to have enough funds to install the machine for use. I will be happy if my request will be granted so that additional electrical works will be done for once and production can start. INSTALLATION OF ELECTRIC BLOCK MACHINE. The benefits and profit on the electric machine is higher compare to manual one which now a days people have shifted from buying manual blocks to electric blocks since they consider it to be more stronger than manual one. If I'm able to produce 500 blocks a day then, it means 4000 blocks will be moulded within 8 days compare to manual of 20 days for 4000 blocks with the same work force. With this simple calculations you can see that my profit will be double when the electric machine is in use. Now a days my kids are growing in school and more books been bought and higher fees are also been paid. If my machine is working and with this profit I hope to pay my kids fees and books promptly. My two family members are still working with me and one of them is going to further his education at polytechnic where I will sponsored him through my profit and savings I will do. Another three workers will be employed if the machine is working. In conclusion I will be glad if my request is granted. Thank you Zidisha lenders. Below is a photo of the uninstalled electric machine.
