My names are Malambo Kelvin.I was born in Ndola , Copperbelt province of Zambia. I encountered hardships in my childhood as i was raised not in my parents home. I started school in 1991 and completed my secondary education in 2002 at the age of 17. I studied Business Management from 2005 to 2007 that earned me a diploma.
For me to go to college, i asked grandma for capital which she gave me, about 30 dollars. I traded with this small amount and i was able to raise tuition fees even after she was dead. This gave me a good business experience.
After completing my college and could not find a job, i worked part time jobs to sustain my life and married in the process because i almost lost hope. As a family man i learnt to be responsible and worked even harder.I was able to raise 700 dollars with which i started poultry business in 2014. Since then i have been through thin and thick ,ups and downs until recently when i become more tough and experienced business man.
We are blessed with the Mediterranean climate and are able to produce pineapples and most people here are launchers from which sector came Zambia's ever richest man Hakainde Hichilema.
My children are still very young two boys and a girl but they like to be found around me and my work.
Am used to reading business material and playing with my kids.
My business is electronics and hardware. I also do computer & phone solutions. The goods & services are in demand because people are either building or need home essentials. Computers & phones have become so important in one's life such that every person will need them. People are buying these goods every day for work, education or luxury.
Because of the demand and the knowledge that i have about the goods and services i decided to join this industry.
The costs are:
Computers $50 * 20 pieces
Basic Phones $10 * 220 pieces
Smart Phones $40 * 80 pieces
Accessories $600
Rentals $100 monthly
Carriage in $200
Other $300
Gross revenues : $9500
Note: this budget is for the computers & phones business
Am diversifying my business into foodstuffs and medical supplies . I need additional capital . Sick or health people still need to eat and also stay heath, the reason am venturing in the above businesses .
I earn passive income and will divert it to loan repayment if business failed. Every problem will come with an opportunity ,so am on the lookout for opportunities that are coming with this global pandemic .Already hygiene products like disinfectants are on demand.
