About Me

My name is Paul Kariuki Maina. I am a Kenya citizen by birth. I was born in 1985 and the third born in a family of five children. I am currently a resident of Murang’a County, at the Kiaman’godu village. I have one wife and one son called Brian. My wife is also a business lady and works in the same town together with me. She sells new ladies wears, i.e bras, cots, inner-wears, etc. We work very hard to make ends meet. Me and my family do attend the St.Gerald's Catholic Church here in Murang’a town and our Parish bishop is Danson Mwalili Kiema. My son attends the nearest school called Victors Academy and is class two.

My Business

My business is located at Endarasha business centre here in Murang’a, Central province , Kenya. I am an entrepreneur specialized in selling second hand clothes. Murang’a is a busy town, especially on market days with a wide market for second hand clothes also known as MITUMBA in Kiswahili, our local language. This is because there are a lot of inhabitants in need of second hand clothes, which are much cheaper than new clothes. I get the supplies from Nairobi, Gikomba market. These clothes are usually sold in bales of between 15 to 25 kg depending on what is packed inside. The clothes are imported from various countries, especially from west countries. I usually choose the items depending on the season. On cold spells I choose to sell heavy jackets on rainy season, I sell t-shirts and light women tops during sunny seasons. My customers prefer to buy from me because my clothes are cheaper and neat. I usually buy my bales from direct importers in the city of Nairobi where they are cheaper compared to buying locally. This allows me to give them at a better bargain. In a week, I normally sell two bales. From the sales I make per bale, I manage to get Ksh 3.500*2 bales=Ksh.7,000 the net profit. The only challenge my business faces is lack of enough capital to stock better and quality products but with the Zidisha platform I will be able to overcome all this obstacles and I will be able to make more sales. It is my earnest prayers that my business will be considered and funded.Thank you

Loan Proposal

Thank you Zidisha team and the entire lending panel. It is my humble request to you once again for a boost to support my business. I am kindly requesting from you lenders to support my business through your hard earned money.
I am planning to add one more bale of children wears, since we are now heading to the festive seasons of the year calender. I am planning to buy light clothing for between 5 years and 12 years old, clothes for the summer wears. Kindly support my loan.Thank you in advance and God bless you mightily.

To the Zidisha family and the lending panel at large.today has been a great day back here in Kenya and it is on a Sunday. The business has been quite low in sales for the whole of this month although we are expecting to peak as we are heading for the festive seasons. This has made me to change my installment for this week hoping to be on the higher amount soon the business comes to normal.please bear with me and as i promised,i will be faithful all along.Good day.
