About Me

My Name is Samuel Abiero, I'm a Kenyan, from a humble background with 0' level education qualification, a young man with great dreams to transform the lives of other youths through self employment. When I was 5 years old my father died and I have been raised by a single parent my mother upto where I am now. i was brought up in Nakuru Sachanguan village went to Mosonei primary ,Nakuru high school then later after working as an untrained teacher and as a small scale farmer and was able to raise fees to go to college and study Business management.
Challenges are a great way to look for advancement opportunities thus every hurdle in life is checked on the lessons learn 't and possible solution which has been great to my decision making. Demand drives need and thus with the untapped opportunity in the tree seedling planting industry was a key driver to establishing my tree nursery business. Currently my major challenge is finance a key motivator to achieving the end goal of self sustenance and communal development. As an entrepreneur and self driven I would wish to see the virtue of hard work, persistence and focus incorporated in my future generations. My locality is vulnerable to frequent perennial drought a major limitation to rain fed farming. I like socializing and an ardent football fan and always feel free to volunteer and give hope to anybody around me.

My Business

I have a posho mill and beside that i do tree seedling farming. I had a passion for trees, which has driven me to invest in tree planting. I started tree planting long time ago in our compound just for their beauty. When the commercial aspect was introduced to me, it was easy for me to take it up. I first planted trees on our land in my village with no specifications of spacing because I did not know much about forestry. I started with species like Eucalyptus grandis, Pinus caribaea and Cyprus. I supply these tree seedlings to county offices for beautification purposes and i also sell my seedlings to the ministry of forestry. Due to demand thrives and need for landscaping in my county i saw that there is demand for tree seedlings, i choose this kind of business due to the fact that it requires very few personnel who are highly skilled thus making it easy to manage. I incur cost pertaining buying of water for irrigation purposes and also buying of seedlings. The profits i generate i use them to expand on my business and also improve on different varieties of trees and i always make profits of upto $ 200.

Loan Proposal

Given the first loan i will use it to restock more goods in my posho mill by including grinding of millet flour and sorghum floor in addition of the maize flours. Furthermore i will move to a larger room to accommodate the large number of my customers who increase daily. With this i will able to increase my montly net pofit by more than 80%.
Thanks to Zidisha

I'm so happy to hear that your business is doing well. There is little doubt that it's more to do with your hard work than the loan.

Hi Zidisha. I have decided to reduce may payment instalments to Ksh.150 because i want it to allow me to keep on-time repayment score high, so that you i can continue to qualify for loan size increases and other privileges. I have taken this decision because i have introduced new stock in my business and i want to see the taste and preferences of my customers.
    Thanks Zidisha
