About Me
My names are Lucy Magiri Maina,I was born in 1986 in Nairobi District, I am the 3rd born in our family of Three siblings .i have gone through primary school education and High School education respectively ,I later joined Mombasa Polytechnic now Mombasa University where I studied Business Administration .After clearing my college studies I moved to Oljo-rorok where my elder brother stays and he owns a grocery shop where he accommodated me and employed me to his shop .After working for two years I decided to start my own business and I ventured in mobile and phone accessories shop ,from my savings and my brother assisted me with some money as a soft loan.
Relocating to this place has aligned so much with my hobbies of travelling ,meeting new people and making new friends and I also love singing where I am a choir member in my church
My Business
I am currently operating a Mobile and Phone Accessories Shop in the center of Oljo-rorok, I started this business with a passion of owning my business and due to lack of employment in this region and also I envied my brother the way he was doing well in life ,after realizing this area had scarcity of this kind of shops and the available ones are mostly closed due to lack of stock,so this turned to be an advantage and I had to tap this mass market to satisfy the locals and the entire community.I have stocked various types of mobile phones ,credit cards of all types of mobile providers in our country,photocopier papers,and also I do operate an M-pesa.Having various products /services has helped my business so much as this goods /services in this area are a challenge to get,especially the photocopier papers and all credit cards for mobile providers,and also low cost phones for the locals because majority here are farmers,and the schools around here come to my shop for the papers.I have been able to cut on the cost by sourcing the products from Nairobi where I buy them at a wholesale price .
This ensures that my products are of good quality and fairly priced attracting more customers.My costs sums to USD 1200.My average sales per day sums to USD 220.The profit that I make from the business I use it for my daily upkeep and I save at least USD 70 for future expansion and progress.It is with great humble and request that this application will be approved and considered ,for the upgrading /progression of my business.
