About Me

I am 26 year old a mother of one daughter and l stay in mlimani estate, section 38, nakuru east location nakuru town. i am a holder of diploma in purchasing and supplies management from kenya institute of management. i started the business of rearing poultry in the year 2010 after completing my college this was because i saw a market in poultry business and i saw an avenue of getting money that would sustain me.this was also an opportunity to use the knowledge that i acquired from school to manage my business.the money i get from the business l increase the number off birds and also cater for their feeds and take my .daughter to school.so with zidisha in place i will be able to buy more birds expand where l rear them and also improve on my livelihood as more profits would be coming in. in my free time i usually go swiming and go for zumba dancing. i am also passionate about children welfare such that i even spare some time to visit children homes where i play with them and also encourage them.

My Business

my business is located where i stay in mlimani estate, section 38, nakuru east location nakuru town.I rear poultry both broilers and layers.I started this business when l saw an opportunity in 2010 after school.I worked for some months after which i started this business from my savings having started with 5 birds.there are many hotels in nakuru and some customers buy broilers from me to resell in nakuru main market.I face less competitions as not many people rear chicken near town so my place becomes a place of choice for them to get their poultry easy whenever they want.the town and the hotels around provides a ready market.the risks that is in this business is that the poultry is vulnerable to diesease which l guard aganist through vaccination and maintaining cleanliness at the place that l rear them..i usually make profit of between USD 120 to USD 150 per month the money which l use for the expenses like feeds and vaccine and the rest I use to cater for my bills and take my daughter to school. a zidisha loan will enable me be well grounded in business in that i will be in abetter position to accquire more birds that i can feed and vacinate well.

Loan Proposal

When i get my loan i will be able to increase the number of birds and also be able to buy poultry feeds for the birds to increase the level of production of eggs for the layers and broilers for chicken meat.I will be able to make profit being that there is a ready market for the poultry has there are many hotels in nakuru town that require the poultry in their menu.I will use the money as follows USD 120 will use to buy more birds, USD 30 inputs like feeds and vaccines for the birds.the profits from this venture will enable me expand my farm and also be able to pay my bills and school fees for my daughter.
