About Me

Esther Amo Coffie is my name, and I attended my senior high school at the Ola Girls in the Brong Ahafo. I am forth among my sibling which I am the only female and the four are boys. My elder brother is an accountant in a private firm in Kumasi the second city in Ghana and hi is married with two children, a boy and a girls. My brother who follows the elder also works with Anglogold Ashanti as a mechanic and not married. The other brother is in his advance course in computer who sometimes gets contracts to network companies offices for them.
About two years ago my elder brother helped me to start a provision shop in the middle of the obuasi township which is close to the central market. Demand are now high on staple food like rice so I started trading in rice and added oil and stuff like that to it. I still have the interest to study further so I intend to employ somebody to take over my shop so I can take some evening classes on either computer or catering course. At school I was one of the best computer and catering students and because I have the passion for these carerers I wont to take them further and teach my children in future. I played hockey, volley and a sprinter at the same time. I was very good in hockey and everybody loved my style. I remember after school I was invited to join the school team to play a friendly match in our city Accra.
I love outing, meeting friends and listening to pop music. But I listen to jazz and cool music when I am alone and most of the time the music I love, I make sure I got the words so I can sing along and my friends thinks I know how to sing every song. I quiet remember one time in school when we had closed from class, some of the upper class students were having fun by enjoying good old music and most of the students where coming from class and enjoying the music too. When I got there I started to sing the song along and shaking my body and I could not stand the fans I was getting from the student. From then they began asking me to teach them how to sing. I really love music.

My Business

The vicinity where my shop is situated is one of the vintage place where business go on through out the week including weekends. My shop is a forty foot container and I keep other stuff at home where my father had given me a big room to use as a warehouse. I normally sell provisions like milo, milk, sugar, sardine, tuna, fish, oil etc and I added rice recently and the demand is very very high and the profit margin is quiet good. Each sixty kilo bag of rice gives me a profit of twenty Ghana cedis and because its been consumed almost every day I would like to go into it more than anything in my shop. And also items like milk, sugar also move very faster so I would like you to grant me a loan to sell more of the items and make more profit. The more I sell will give me the opportunity to become an agent to the manufacturial distribuator whereby they will decrease the price they use to sell to me.
On the other hand it will enable me to hire or employ another person to assist me when I am away, and also I will be able to purchase the motor bike with container behind to distribute items to my clients. Also I will buy a larger deep freezer to stock more fish and meat for my clients. Because of the demand of rice I have to travel almost every week to purchase to replenish my stock and not only rice but other items including fish, essential commodities. That means I have to be away almost every Friday.

Loan Proposal

With the purchase of another store close to the main lorry station, I am going to increase my provisions and eventually sales will increase as well and I strongly believe that sales at the new store will increase in the double because of where it is situated.
