My Name is Bernice Naa Dei Neequaye, i was born in 1976 to my parents who al haih from the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. I am the third born to y parents with 4 others siblings all girls. I started my primary school at the st Mary's Anglican Primary.Accra is a metropolitan area having diversity of tribes all migrating here for better job and city life. This made it difficult for the indigenes to compete for everything. My parents tried and gave us our primary to secondary education and that was it. Because of that i could not continue my education as i had wanted to be a Nurse but coluld not get the money to further my education. I had to help my mum sell at the market after school and and after my secondary education i got a job with a mobile fone dealer where i took over whenever my boss was not around. The salary was really bad but i manage to save a little and my parents supported me to go to tertiary education to study catering. it was really tough but manage to pass through. I got marry to a wonderfull man who help me start variouse business till i delivered my two daughters. My husband was the solely responsible for the house and when the children came, it was difficult to continue shouldering the responsibilty alone and so i had to do something to help and selling of second clothing came to mind as it was one of the eaiest way to make money as demand for it was simply amazing. The people of Accra are predominantly fishermen and very generous and welcoming The premier university is on our land and also about 10 other university .The capital is also dotted with small busineses i.e buying and selling.. We take pride in celebrating child dedication. My first born wants to be become a lawyer and she tells ny husband a different thing. The second born is just 3 years .My hobby basically is cooking and reading, I was the quiet type so always spent leisure time home .
I sell clothing both second hand and what is termed Store Reject. These goods are simply in high demand and will at least give you your daily bread as compare to the boutiques, You could get nice wears at affordable prices and these makes it attractive to most people because of the rural urban migration the econimic difficulty in the city, most people prefer the second hand clothing as it is affodable. The fascinating thing about this business is that you just need a little space and have your wears either hang or on some big polythen or card bord on the floor and you invite people to come and check them also you invite friends to your house and buy them. These was what drove me into these business as i could easily get money every day. This mode of selling is interesting. My cost averages between $100 -$150 monthly and my revenue is between $200-$250 so my profit monthly is between $50-$150. This is use to support my husband take care of the house, my children school fee. i dont want them to go through what i went through and could not develop my carrier in the Nursing field and i also reinvest in the business to keep the business going. I also save a bit to further my education later in life.
