am a kenyan in my early 30s happily married and am blessed with a son who is 6 year old and currently in primary school. I grew up in Nyamira county, Nyanza province of western kenya region. I am a fifth born in a family of 9 siblings 4 brothers and 4 sisters . I managed to coumplete college level education training as a nurse but have never been employed. also I undertook a vocational course in tailoring after which I started a dress making business.
During my leisure time am involved in nature conservation activities in my neighbourhood and I love travelling and reading books which help me moving on with life in this part of the world.
I run a dress making business in my neighbourhood , making ready made clothes for my customers, mending torn clothes and other clothe repair. A bove all I make designs for bed covers, tables , chairs and curtains . I decided to venture in this business because clothing is a basic daily need in human life .
the major costs in my business include rent, electricity bills, wages for my employee and inventory of stock materials.
Profit i make from the business I use them in paying school fees for my son and supporting the daily basic needs in our young family I also support my younger siblings who partially depend on me and above all improving the business.
through the loan I get will be able to improve my business by buying a sewing machine that will cost about 70 US dollars, 30 US dollars will be used to buy threads and buttons . Though the money is not enough I still need 80 US dollars for buying clothing materials(African kitenge, I need 10 US dollars for paying electricity and water bills.
Through the inventory the business will gradually increase the income and created an additional employee to my business thus improving life above all I will easily meet my basic daily need to my family and I.
