About Me

I am Farida Hadi but born Veronica Wangari. I was born in a christian family and later married a Muslim man where I converted to Islam. My husband later died and left me behind with four children. Two of these children are now grown ups and two are still in school.

I support my family by running a shoe shop which is just next to my house. I sell new and used shoes to the members of my community. I like my job because it gives me my daily bread and through it, I have been able to educate and feed my children.

My Business

As mentioned above, I sell shoes from my outlet as a retailer. I get my stock from bit stores in town and then retail them at a small profit. In a good day, I can sell ten pairs of shoes where my profit can be as high as USD 20. However, this fluctuates depending on the date and season and it can go as low as USD 2 in a day.

I hope to keep increasing my stock until I transform my shop into a big store where I will be able to serve more people. This is the main reason that I have joined Zidisha.

Loan Proposal

My business is still growing and I need more stock to address the growing demand from my clients. I moved my business to a busy street and the sales are good. With this amount, I will be able to get a stock of 20 pairs of assorted boots.

This will increase my sales and leave my clients more satisfied.
