About Me

My name is Dominic Kengongo a Kenyan citizen staying in Kisumu City near Kibos primary school I am a married person with 4 grown up children. My education background is O’ level. I was employed by Telkom Kenya as a clerical officer due to restructuring of the company we were retrenched in the year 2008.At this period my children were in schools and they needed a lot of resources to bring them up therefore I ventured in to business. At my free time I participate in church activities e g chairing lay council meetings, helping office work and working youths. I like reading especially business journals and news papers and interacting with friends in the social media

My Business

My business is registered as a sole proprietor in the Republic of Kenya under certificate number 514520 under the name of SEHKEN ENTERPRISES& WORKS. We deal with consumable goods e g cleaning materials, toiletries and sundries. Being in urban town the demand of these goods are from Organizations, Institutions and Hotels .The main sources of these are retail shops super markets and individual stockist who supply in small quantities. I get these products from the factories at low prices and my over head cost is low because I have one employee. The risks involved are fire, burglary and high taxes e g V.A.T.The profit from the business pay for the wages for one staff ,school fees for my children and up keep of the family. With $150 I will be able to purchase 12 bundles of toilet papers .The 12 bundles of toilet papers will fetch a profit of 35% in the first sale and I normally take one week to sell the 12 bundles. Most organizations and Hotel start their financial in July, the demand for these items are expected to be high. This is the period Kenya government reads the financial budget and therefore all the institutions also start their financial year.

Loan Proposal

My business is located at Kibos, Kamenya village. I started my business with a capital of 581 US Dollars, I purchased basic household supplies such as sanitary towels, tissue papers, detergents, and few kitchen supplies as per the needs of the customers and the surrounding neighbors. In a day i managed to collect a minimum 17.44 US Dollars, my daily net profit was 5.81 US Dollars. I managed to recover my capital for a period of three months.
From the loan i will be able to purchase tissue papers of about six bales at 12.09 US Dollars amounting to a total of 72.56 US Dollars. From the sale of tissue papers i will collect 17.67 US Dollars for one bale of tissue papers , amounting to a total of 106.02 US Dollars, collecting a profit of 46.15%.
I will also purchase three boxes serviettes at 25.26 US Dollars amounting to a total of 75.53 US Dollars, from this sale i will collect 29.30 US Dollars per box amounting to a total of 87.91 US Dollars, collecting a profit of 16.40%.
From the profit collected i will be able to upkeep my family for basic needs, provide this commodity readily available for the community to prevent them from going to supper markets for the commodity. thus saving them money and time.
Lenders should support me in making this purchase because it will not only benefit my family but the community. From the little profit i collect i will be able to participate in church projects, helping the needy and orphans in the community. It will also help maintain the environment clean by preventing the commonly used writing papers. Thank You!

I have contacted Dominic Kengongo twice and he has promised to pay before long, he does not want to readjust the payments coz his plan is to settle the debt once since it's long overdue - he has promised to talk to zidisha as soon as possible.

I faulted to pay the loan because i was caught by my children school fees and my relatives who were in high schools and University but now they have completed and relieved the burden.I will like to continue with the business and maintain my credibility and creditworthy.
