About Me

I went to kaloleni primary ,school where i sat for my KCPE and passed with flying colours and was admitted to Kisii High School for my secondary education, I was forced to drop out of school at my second year due to lack of fees. Due to my desire to complete my education , I decided to to start small scale farming so that I could enroll in a local day school . I borrowed $10 from my former primary school teacher that I used to buy seeds and prepare 0.25 acres f land for planting traditional african vegetables, within one month the vegetables were ready,I made sales and repaid the $10 , I was able to save $300 after 6 months and these enabled me to get back to school and completed my secondary education. I am farming now to raise money for college fees.I come from kisii land and the land is hilly and fertile, there are lots of bananas, sugar cane and tea, however the population is to high and these has led to land subdivision, hence there are no large scale farmers.
I am a rugby fun and player and I am always jovial, out going and friendly and like meeting new people ,sharing new ideas and having new friends.

My Business

I am a small scale farmer engaging in production of traditional african leafy vegetables and tomatoes. I sell my produce in the nearby market and also to household consumers.
The demand for the vegetables is high as most families engage in production of cash crops such as tea and sugar cane and hence deficit in vegetable production that leads to low supply hence high demand.
I choose agribusiness because it was the only viable option and need less capital,I am however thankful and do not regret my choice, for I love farming.
my montly typical costs are $100 for seeds, manure, and labor and my montly revenues are $300 on average.
I spend the profits in business expansion, through reinvestment ,save for college fees and support my siblings.

Loan Proposal

dear lenders, given the loan I would use the $60 I would receive add to my $70 savings so that I can buy an irrigation foot pump that goes for $130.the foot pump would be very vital as it would help me water large are with easy hence increase production and sales. I would expect my profits to double during these dry season.Thank you in advance.
