I live in Keringet, Nakuru County. I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Nairobi. Getting stable jobs since then has been a challenge. I currently work with Old Mutual Kenya as a Financial Advisor in Nakuru. I have previously worked for Micro Africa as a sales Agent and for African Population and Health Research Center as a Research Assistant. Keringet is an upcoming town. It climate favors agriculture. The place is cold with relatively enough rains throughout the year.
As stated above I work for Old Mutual Kenya as a Financial Advisor. The job is commission-based and sometimes I may earn so little when the sales are low. I have therefore looked into other means to supplement my income. I have a phone shop in Keringet where I sell airtime, phones, and phone accessories. The business does well because of it is the headquarters of Kuresoi district. There is also money in circulation because of thriving agriculture in the area.
I am also a farmer. I have three acres of land, which I plan to put the whole of it into use by the end of the year. So far, one acre has potatoes. This is the main crop that does well here. Per month, I make an average of Sh. 30000. This year I plan to work more on agriculture as well as stock my business. This will only be possible with the help of Zidisha Community. Thank you.
I am glad that I was able to clear the first loan without any problem. Everything has been going on as planned. I am asking for the same support accorded to me since I joined Zidisha. I am applying for a loan of 33,137($390) Kenya shillings. I will use Sh. 20,000($228) to plant one extra acre of potatoes. This involves seeds (Sh.10,000($114)) and fertilizer(Sh.8,000($91)). I will use Sh. 2000($23) to add to the amount I already have to prepare the land and pay for the labor. I had a bountiful harvest from the previous planting and I have already planted that piece of land where I harvested potatoes. I am glad that I got a new bank job. It is well paying. I will be relocating to a new place to work there. Sh. 13,137($150) will be used to get a new house and buy a few things for the new house. Thank you as you contribute to this loan.
