About Me

Born on 16th August 1978, am the seventh in a family of eleven kids to a mother Mrs Catherine Kochwa and the late Mr Thomas Kochwa.
I joined Emulunya Primary School at the age of seven in class one and proceeded to class eight whereby I sat for my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and passed very well. With aid of a church we worship at Emasatsi Catholic Church, I joined Eshinutsa High School from form four and managed to get a grade that could take me to University but due to the poverty in my family, I decided to settle on an Information Technology course. My brother who had secured a position as a technician, offered himself as my sponsor hence saw me through and am thankful.

My Business

After school and a training in Information Technology, I was employed with a private firm in a capacity of a secretary but for a period of six years with them, I found it very rough hence could not withstand the harassment of my boss and quitt. With the help of my family, I managed to get four computers, rent for a premise, legal documents and I convinced a neighbor to sub-let me an internet signal so that I could start a cyber cafe. The challenges I encountered were huge in that I had no printers, photo copy machines and my machines lacked some important packages that are highly demanded.
With the help of my neighbor he advised me and in someways gave hand where I had no go through.
I have built good client-ale in the village I operate from, making not much but just enough to keep me going. I have saved kshs 20,000 looking forward for more to help me purchase a kshs 40,000 printer that am sure with time will raise enough for me to buy a photo copy machine.
Am thankful that finding Zidisha my stress is now manageable and will help my dream come true so that I can help the internet world grow in my village.
Thank you in advance and God bless you.

Loan Proposal

It will help me buy a printer in my cyber that has been a problem for so long. initially, I used to borrow or sometimes fail completely to satisfy my clients hence at long run end up losing most of them. I'll be grateful for zidisha has come for my rescue to protect my business at least to grow.
I promise to service my loan to the end so that upgrade to the next level so that I move to a bigger place to serve more clients.
I think by the time am stable, I will be able to assist my husband and kids to meet the daily basic needs and on the other hand help them in their education.
My goals is to open more cyber cafes in the area so that I upgrade by employing tutors to teach those without the computer knowledge, to be able to access loans too and acquire what they need in their lives like through Zidisha and other micro-finance institutions.
